Our Services

During your very first visit, our dental hygienist will develop a course of preventative services that will enable you to reach your goals. All of our services below are customized to each unique patient.

General Dentistry

Our Associate Dentist, Dr. Kristina DeVellis performs a full scope of general dentistry such as comprehensive exams, restorative dentistry, crowns/bridges, veneers, uncomplicated extractions, orthodontic retainers, and fabrication of night guards.

Dental Assessments and Periodontal Assessments

When welcoming a new client to the office a complete dental examination is performed to evaluate their teeth and gums to determine the current condition of their oral health. This will also allow the dental professional to identify any areas of concern. The dental exam includes a thorough review of the client's medical, dental and personal histories along with an oral cancer screening and customized dental treatment plan.

Oral Examinations

Regular examinations give our dental professionals the opportunity to identify any dental health issues and make a catered treatment plan. During the exam, our dental professionals will take a look at your teeth, gums and bite. Exams may also include digital x-rays, oral cancer screenings, and other procedures as needed.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer can affect any part of the mouth or surrounding tissues, including lips, tongue, cheeks, the floor of the mouth, palate, sinuses, and throat. At the Meticulous Smile our dentists can identify abnormalities like cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions which are difficult to detect with the naked eye.

Hygiene Cleanings

Dental cleanings or scaling of the teeth is the removal of hard and soft deposits that build up on the teeth, (above and below the gums) which cannot be removed by brushing nor by flossing. If calculus, also known as 'tartar' is present for too long it will then cause inflammations of the gums, resulting in red, swollen gingival tissues. At The Meticulous Smile, all of our services are conducted with the highest regard to quality care. During your very first visit, our dental hygienist will develop a course of preventative services that will enable you to reach your goals. All of our services are customized to each unique client.

Direct Fillings

If your dentist finds a cavity or damage like a crack or fracture in the tooth, they may recommend using a composite filling to repair it. Composite fillings should withstand pressure from the stress of chewing and can be used on front and back teeth.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown, also known as a cap, is a type of protective tooth restoration that covers a damaged or decayed tooth to try and restore its original shape, size and colour. Crowns should improve the strength, function and appearance of a broken tooth that may otherwise be lost. Crowns are usually needed when there is insufficient tooth structure remaining to hold a filling and or if a root canal has been completed on a tooth. Your crown is created in a lab from your unique tooth impression, which allows a dental laboratory technician to examine all aspects of your bite and jaw movements.

Benefits of Crowns

Dental crowns cover damaged teeth and protect them from any future issues. They can be used in dental procedures to cover a tooth after a root canal or to attach a dental bridge. If you need a filling replaced but your natural tooth is too small, your dentists may crown it. Crowns are strong because they are made of porcelain which help protect and strengthen the remaining tooth structure.

Cosmetic Dental Services

Cosmetic dental services focus on the overall appearance of your smile, including your teeth and gums, and include treatments that try and improve the aesthetic quality of your smile.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is usually a safe way to remove stains and lighten the colour of your teeth.

Teeth Whitening

In-Office Treatment

We will start by placing a shield on your gums to guard them against the whitening solution, and then apply the product to your teeth. Next, we will activate the solution using a dental laser to break down stains and discolouration on your teeth.

Sealants

Sealants are a treatment used to prevent cavities. Many of us have teeth with many grooves, especially kids. These grooves make it hard to properly brush, it's hard to get right into those grooves to remove sugar, food, debris from sitting there causing a cavity. When we see very groovy teeth, we recommend sealants. It's a very easy and quick procedure!

Icon Resin Infiltration (ICON)

Icon resin infiltration is a minimally invasive restorative treatment for post-ortho white-spot lesions and certain congenital hypo-calcified enamel lesions ('white spots on teeth'). These “spots” occur from a cyclical imbalance between demineralization and remineralization of the enamel, usually caused by poor hygiene practices. Icon resin infiltration is minimally invasive and can be completed in one visit resulting in the disappearance of the 'white spots on your teeth'.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding repairs minor chips and discolouration's in tooth enamel and can help reimagine your smile.

Bonding Procedure

Dental bonding should be a minimally invasive process where tooth-coloured composite material is applied to a tooth, sculpted into shape, hardened, and then polished.

Dental Veneers

Veneers can mask stains that cannot be removed with teeth whitening and can help alter the appearance of your teeth. Dental veneers imitate the natural translucency of tooth enamel, so they should look and feel like natural teeth.

X-rays are so important for us, dental professionals! X-rays allow us to give you a proper diagnosis! We get to see on an X-ray what we can't always see with the naked eye! We are able to detect a problem before they turn into a big treatment or serious issue. When your dentist recommends an X-ray we do it for you! We want to ensure we provide the best care. Getting X-rays at the dentist is very safe nowadays, thanks to new technology and equipment the amount of radiation is very low! At our practice our equipment is new, helping us keep you guys - our patients safe while effectively diagnosing pathology and cavities.

The Importance of Dental Visits For Kids

Infants should usually be seen by a dentist by the child's first birthday. By this time, the baby's first teeth, or primary teeth, are beginning to erupt and it is a critical time to spot any problems before they become big concerns. It is essential that a child's primary teeth are healthy because their development sets the stage for permanent teeth.
